These are the new daughterboards from the Unified Daughterboard Project

The Unified Daughterboard Project is an open source project designed to standardize the USB daughterboards used in custom keyboards, spearheaded by many community contributors such as ai03. The newest releases by the project team are the S1 and C4 daughterboards.

This new S1 revision has a slimmer form factor and a different internal cable connector compared to the pre-existing C3 daughterboard series. The case needs to be designed to use this new slimmer footprint.

The C4 revision features the same footprint of the C3 and earlier but with the new Molex Pico-EZmate connector.

Note: Your PCB will need to have support for the new Molex Pico-EZmate Connector, these will not fit the older JST headers. Please handle the cables carefully, any kinks or sharp bends may cause them to not work properly.

When configuring the order, please select your desired cable length:

  • 125mm Length- Works well in pretty much any 40% sized case or some slightly larger boards
  • 170mm Length- Works well in 60% and larger sized boards

All PCBs are in stock (Unless in Group Buy or Pre Order Status) and pre flashed with a default firmware. Please test your PCBs before assembly.

The firmware .hex files can be found here if you need to reflash at all.

S1 Details
* Follows the specs and implementation listed by the Unified Daughterboard Project
* Slim form factor, allowing for a smaller footprint
* Secured to the case by 2x M3 screws
* ESD protection, overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, shielding noise decoupling, and single-path grounding to the keyboard case
* New, more durable Molex Pico-EZmate Connector that clips in vertically and much easier.
* 1:1 connector pinout, allowing for backwards compatibility

C4 Details
* Follows the specs and implementation listed by the Unified Daughterboard Project
* Same form factor as the C1-C3, allowing for backwards compatibility but with a new connector type.
